Multi-genre Canadian cellist Erika Nielsen's musicianship spans Baroque and Classical tradition to Contemporary and Popular genres. Described as a "colourful cellist of many temperaments", she performs as a solo and collaborative artist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and is a passionate educator. She maintains a private studio in Toronto's Christie Pits neighbourhood where she resides with her husband, bassist and composer Graham Smith, and is also a writer and visual artist.
